Not to steal my own thunder, but Week 16, coming Wednesday, will be the first week since Trump’s second inauguration that his pace of awfulness actually slowed down. There will still be a long list of broken norms, as long as late year 2 of the first regime, but his pace and the number of actions he is taking has slowed. Much of his early efforts are now bogged down in the courts.

What seemed like a flawless rollout of Project 2025, now appears indeed quite flawed. Today has been a complete mess and embarrassment for the Trump regime.

Musk demanding a list of five accomplishments by tonight at 11:59 p.m. EST. Then he met with pushback, publicly and privately, from almost every member of Trump’s cabinet. Today, at the same time Trump is praising Musk and his plan to reporters, the Office of Personnel Management sent out a mass email, telling federal employees that responding to Musk is “voluntary.” DHS reverses its own guidance from earlier in the day to respond to Musk, saying instead “assume that what you write will be read by malign foreign actors.” Musk doubling down. OPM changing course in a memo.

Is this a federal government or the keystone cops?
